Erie County 1821-2021 Bicentennial
Educator Resources
On April 2, 1821, New York State officially recognized Erie County. Events related the Erie County Bicentennial will be going on for 12 months between April 2021-April 2022. During that time period the NFCSS will be working with other EC200 Partners to curate and promote educational events related to the Bicentennial.
At times in our history it is important to pause and reflect on where we’ve been, the challenges and successes we’ve had, and the path that has brought us to this point in time. Erie County’s rich, vibrant and bustling history will be spotlighted and celebrated throughout our bicentennial year as EC200 gives us all the opportunity to become better acquainted with the men and women who shaped our county into what it is today. Having this historical perspective makes us better-prepared to understand our role and responsibility in continuing Erie County’s growth for the next 200 years -
